Sparky Grinstead, John Rafferty and Carole Zingeser are the Threetles. Formed two years ago when they met on a BART train hurtling into the great unknown, the group performs mostly Sparky’s wonderfully quirky “pop folk” songs about life, love, cultural icons and BART trains hurtling into the great unknown. John sings and play harmonica, Carole sings and plays glockenspiel and melodica. Sparky, a well-known local gadfly, raconteur, bon vivant and man-about-town, writes the songs and plays guitar (they also play a selection thoughtfully-chosen covers).
