From The Seagull to The Gull, part of our Champagne Staged Reading Series. The Seagull is considered one of the greatest plays ever written: a story about artists, ambition, love, and the search for meaning. Now, playwright Tara Blau Smollen reimagines the classic through the lives of Black creatives in 1930s Oak Bluffs, Martha’s Vineyard.Though the setting changes, the emotional heart of the story remains the same: artists searching for love, purpose, and recognition.
